FAIR Canada announced the resignation of Associate Director Steve Garmaise, effective March 31, 2010. FAIR Canada Executive Director Ermanno Pascutto said, “Steve joined FAIR Canada in the early days of the organization as its role was evolving. He made an important contribution to our work, including initiatives like leveraged ETFs and Money Market funds. The board of directors and I have both expressed our appreciation to Steve for his contribution.”
Steve said, “It was a privilege and an honour to be involved from an early stage in FAIR Canada’s work to provide a voice for individual investors in the regulatory world and to protect investor and shareholder rights. That work has never been more important. As much of that work increasingly requires legal skills and a background in securities legislation, my skills in research, analysis and general management can be better used elsewhere.” Steve added that he plans to continue to be involved in the intersection of the investor protection, public policy and regulatory worlds.
